YUMEYA BIILABONG PRO

The YUMEYA BIILABONG PRO TAHARA started today at Akabane Longbeach in Japan. In really ordinary 2' slop Stu won his opening heat in this 6 Star event. He surfs next in Ht 19 of the round of 144. Adam Melling comes into the event in the round of 96.

UPDATE 30.7
Stu came 2nd in his round of 144 heat in Japan today. He surfs next in the round of 96 Ht 20, stoked he didn't end up in Mello's heat - Ht 16

UPDATE 31.7
The waves in Japan are slop today and getting thru a heat was a lottery. Unfortunately for Adam he didn't have a winning ticket. Stuey Kennedy definitely had a lucky ticket. After a really scrappy heat he was in 3rd with less than 30 secs to go needing a 4.24 and the guy in 2nd scored an interference against Stu, so he goes thru to the round of 48. That's some great competitive skills right there mate. Go hard Stu

UPDATE 1.8
Stuey was knocked out in 1' waves in Japan today. He finished in 37th which is a fantastic result in a QS for a junior. Well done kiddo.

The seven event National GromSearch series presented by Snickers ensures all surfing states are represented and allows grommets all over the country to have the chance to surf in familiar territory.

After a successful introduction the GromSearch Ratings system for 14’s and 16’s division will continue in season 2008/09 allowing participants to check their position throughout the series and see how they rate on a National scale. With last year’s ratings winners in the 16’s division receiving a wildcard and an all expenses paid trip to Bells for the National Final, competition will be tight at the top end of the list.

MR Price Pro

The Mr Price Pro is underway in Sud Efrika. Mello is in Ht 8 round 144.
UPDATE
Mello scored 15.83 in his first heat and combo-ed the others. Next up is the round of 96 Ht 8

UPDATE 3.7
Mello has made it through to the round of 48. He scored a 9.17 at the start of the heat but was in 3rd until the final minute when he managed to pull out an 8.87. This huge heat total of 18.04 combo-ed the others.

UPDATE 4.7
Adam has continued his good form and made it through the round of 48. Next up is heat 4 round of 24. Good luck Mello

UPDATE 5.7
Adam has finished in 17th place in S Africa. The two locals teamed up to keep him off any decent waves which made it almost impossible for Mello to score highly. The good news is that the 1125 ratings points Adam scored is his second highest for the year and will keep him in contention for '09 WCT qualification.
