Max was in devastating form to win the O 45's Aussie Title today. With wave scores of 9.50 and 10 he led the final from the start to finish and posted the highest heat score of the entire event. Job done. Congratulations Max. Gordon Barnes could't find the best waves in the O 50's final and finished a creditable 4th in the Aussie Titles.

Walshy led the Open final for the first 15 mins until Bemrose took the lead. With 6 minutes to go Walshy needed a 7.76 to take the lead and scored a 7.75 leaving him tied for 1st but Bemrose ahead with the highest single wave score, heavy. Inside the last 30 seconds Dane Atcheson scores a 9.00 and wins the event with Walshy pushed down to 3rd on countback. Hold your head up mate , it doesn't get much closer than that, well done.

Stephen Walsh has surfed an amazing semi to blast his way into the Open Final at the Na Papa Australian Surf Masters. With wave scores of 7.85 and 8.90 Walshy left current Aussie champ Matt Bemrose in his wake. Maxy has also made his O45 Final with incredible wave scores of 8.50 and 9.50. Good work fellahs and good luck .

Woody drew a really difficult heat in the round of 96 and the judges didn't help. With a keeper score of 6.83 he was looking OK and needed a backup. Woody took off did a massive fade cutback, then a huge hacking jam in the pocket followed by a big snap and scored 3.43. Wrigley Dental Floss bogs his way along one and finishes with a dodgy close-out and scores a 7.83, someone must want him on the WCT eh? This is a building year for Woody but a couple of decisions going his way might help. Adam Melling was also knocked in his round 3 heat.

The Buondi Billabong Pro ,(WQS) 6-Star event, will start tonight August 26 and run until September 1 at Ribeira d'Ilhas in Ericeira, Portugal.

Swell forecasts look very good and six to eight foot surf should be hitting Ericeira's coast Wednesday.

Woody surfs in round 1 Ht 12 and Mello starts in round 3 Ht 23.

Woody has done well overnight and made it thru to round 2

Woody has scraped thru to round 3 by the skin of his you know what ! Despite having the highest single wave score of the heat it could have gone to anyone, considering the conditions. It doesn't matter if you win by a whisker or a mile so well done mate and good luck.

Stephen Walsh dominated the requalification rounds of the Open Men’s division, tearing apart the Town Beach right-handers with precision at the Na Papa Australian Surf Masters.

Walshy was on-fire throughout his heat racking up a total heat score of 17.25 in clean 4' waves in Port Macquarie.

Maxy Perrot is up to his usual tricks and has advanced to the semis of the O45's

Walshy was again in destructive form, ripping apart the right-handers with speed and power.

Revelling in the excellent conditions, Steph enjoyed his surfing this morning.

“It’s pumping again,”

“I’m not sure how to compare it yesterday, but it is still so much fun and all the guys are surfing so well.”

Having been consistently throwing up scores within the eight and nine point range, Walshy continued on his way with an 8.75 this morning.

“The level of surfing on show is unbelievable,”

“It’s like surfing in a WQS (ASP World Qualifying Series) event.”

“Being in my first Na Papa Australian Titles, this is really good for my surfing and confidence.”

Walshy has smashed his quarter final with scores of 9.20 and 9.25 to cruise into the semis of the Opens. Gordon ( Donny Osmond ) Barnes has made the final of the O 50's

Rip Curl Pro Hossegor WQS

The Rip Curl Pro Hossegor/Seignosse WQS 6-Star started yesterday and runs thru to 24th Aug at Les Bourdaines in Seignosse. Stuey Kennedy has done well to be slotted into Ht 12 along with Adam Melling Ht 14 in the round of 96

Adam surfed well tonight in clean 3'-4' waves to make it thru to the round of 48 with a heat score of 13.46. Unfortunately for Stu he did not progress but it's still great experience for the future. Mello surfs next in Ht 8 rd 3

Mello was knocked out in his round of 48 heat.
He had one of those heats that he would rather forget with Huey sending nothing his way. This result equates to a 37th and 975 ratings points which will replace one of his previous results. He currently sits at 24 on the QS. Hopefully Adam can string together some good results during the back end of this season and keep in the hunt for the WCT. 2478 WCT surfer, has a nice ring to it.

Sooruz Lacanau Pro

The ASP WQS 6-Star Sooruz Lacanau Pro got underway at 8.30 AM this morning in wind-blown four foot waves at the French surf town of Lacanau.
Woody surfs in the round of 192 Ht 8 and Mello in Ht 11 in the round of 96

Do you wanna know how to make a good impression on the judges in your first heat in a WQS in a foreign country ? Just do what Woody did tonight. With a combined heat score of 15.34 ( 8.17, 7.17 ) he combo-ed the rest of the heat. Love your work mate.

Bad luck for Woody tonight . He was knocked out in the round of 144 in horrendous 4'-5' washing machine conditions. Apparently there are good waves in Europe ?

Mello surfs tonight in Ht 11 round of 96
Update- That was hard work out there tonight. Adam was eliminated and finished in 49th - a throw away result

Rip Curl Boardmasters

The Rip Curl Boardmasters, WQS 5-Star event, will start tomorrow August 5th at Fistral Beach NEWQUAY, England. Woody is set to surf in the first round , Adam Melling and Stu start in round 2. Good luck fellahs.

Woody smashed his first heat last night and is into round 2.

Unfortunately Woody was knocked last night in the round of 96. Stuey and Mello both progressed into the round of 48. Adam surfs in Ht 3 with Jarrad Sullivan . Stu is in Ht 11. Go hard boys.

Unfortunately Adam went down last night but Stu Kennedy has continued his amazing form this year and made it thru to the round of 24 Ht 7

Stu Kennedy won his heat overnight and is now in the final 16 surfers and the man on man heats.
"I am stoked to get that done and do good here", Stuey said. "I have no pressure as a wildcard and I just want to have fun. It has been good so far and I am happy to be in the final day and surf man-on-man heats."

Stu Kennedy was knocked out in the round of 16 in howling onshore conditions tonight. This result , 9th place, is an amazing finish for a junior surfer in a WQS event. Stuey has another couple of years on the Pro Junior circuit but if he can keep up this form we might see a WCT surfer from Lennox real soon. Well done grom
