Hurley Pro Junior is one of the most prestigious junior surfing events in the world, boasting a world record USD$25,000 first place cheque. The event runs Jan 26th - 30th at Burleigh Heads. Luke Streader (Ht11 round 128), Joe Sandercock (Ht12 round 96), Shannon Mackie (Ht15 round 96) and Nik Hoskin (Ht 16 round 96) are all in the event. The swell forecast looks good and if the wind clocks around to the SE the waves should be cracking.  Good luck fellas.

Update Jan 27th
Luke progressed into round 3 after finishing second in a tight round 2 heat in tough conditions. He will surf in the same heat as Joey in the next round which could be an advantage if they can look out for each other. Hiroto Arai, who is a good mate of many Le-Ba members,  had  convincing wins in his round 2 and round 3 heats.

All the fellas were knocked in the round of 96 today.






Ocean & Earth International Teenage Rampage will see some of the best junior surfer from NSW, QLD, VIC and SA take on a select group of internationals at Cronulla on from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 January, 2011.


Entry into the event is via Qualification Only with the top 4 placed groms from each Regional Qualifier invited to compete.


Le-Ba has 4 groms - Mikey Wright, Tom Snellgrove, Zac Wightman and Jake Snellgrove in the event. Good luck fellas.

Update Jan 21st
All the groms made a good start today in the opening rounds. Despite his first heat Mikey Wright managed to bag a perfect 10 from the judges later in the competition with the highest combined wave score of the day 17.33 at the International Teenage Rampage.


"Opening with a (7.55) was great but when I got the 10 I was ecstatic to get a perfect score on the board,".


The groms will surf 3 rounds with each subsequent round allocated a higher points as each round placing points are increased by 34.85%.

Update Jan 22nd
Consistent waves, great performances and a light NE wind defined the second day of the Ocean & Earth International Teenage Rampage.


The innovative approach to the traditional junior surfing competition, unearthed the new wave of Australian surfing talent, competitors were greeted again with rippable one-metre waves.


Competition heated up producing the best heat of the day as the boys U16s went wave for wave in heat 1 pulling out some rapid fire surfing between Jonnie Keith and Tom Snellgrove.


At the end of the day Mikey Wright was placed 1st in the Under 16 Boys with Tom finishing the event in 12th - well done Tommy. In the Under 13 Boys Zac finished 13th and Jake finished 15th. Congratulations groms for making a big mark on an international event.

Update Jan 3rd
After being on the top of the leader board for the first 3 rounds Mikey went down in the semis to finish 5th. Still a great result mate, well done.



THE Sunshine Coast lived up to its name on Jan 12th with the wild Queensland weather subsiding long enough to complete the 2011 Sunshine Coast Wahu Surfer Groms Comp in solid conditions @ Alex Headland. Eli Carr continued his good competition form to finish 2nd in the U 11's. In the U 13's Luke Condon finished 3rd while his brother Zak Condon did well to finish in the semis. Well done groms


























2011 QLD Jim Beam Surftag is on Saturday 15th January, Duranbah Beach, Coolangatta. Le-Ba team surfs their first heat @ 8:00 am ( QLD time ). Get up there if you can and add some support. Good luck fellas.



Woody has been awarded a wildcard into the final of Jim Beams " The Break ". The final will be @ North Straddie during January. Congratulations mate and good luck in the final.






Championship Moves Pro Junior presented by Chiko runs January 4th - 7th at Bells beach. Joe Sandercock and Nik Hoskin will be down in Vicco for the event. Good luck fellahs.

No luck for Joey who was eliminated with an interference against him in the round of 64. Nik had a great first heat and moved into the round of 32.

Update January 5th
In the round of 32 Nik missed out on progressing by 0.66 points and finished 25th. Bad luck mate.
