Update Feb 21st
Boardriders Cup ran today in 1' - 2' righthanders in front of the Pub @ Lennox . Woody surfed brilliantly in every heat and eventually won the final to be crowned Australian Boardriders Cup Champion of Champions. He was met in the surf by a band of vocal Le-Ba supporters, congratulated by his little Bro ( in his very wet Lennox Public uniform ) and chaired up to receive the cheque for $2k. What an incredible start to the 3 day event. “It was a good day and great to start the week and for the Surftag finals, I knew it was going to be a pretty big day if I was going to go all the way I just tried to drink as much water as I could and I was still cramping up a bit and in the end”, said Wood who surfed five solid heats.
“I had a really good heat just before the semi and catching lots of waves, we have a really good team this year and hopefully we can keep it going and come away with a win at the Club Challenge tomorrow.
Love ya work Woody. Go Le-Ba !!!

Update Feb 24th
We won !!! “We’ve ended up in a few finals over the years but never nailed it, we’ve put a lot of effort and a lot of time to get to this spot, we are all pretty proud to get here. All the boys are really happy to even make the final so everyone is feeling great”.
“The conditions were quite good, we started off with Melling, Owen in second then I was third and we finished up with Stuey and James Wood, we were pretty confident we were going to come out in front at the end of the day.”
Marcus Aboody Le-Ba club team captain and Man of the Match.
